During the dark era of GM there was one car that just dripped with coolness.
The 1980s weren’t exactly the golden age for GM, but there were a few cars that stood out. One of them was the Buick Regal Grand National. It debuted in 1982, was dropped in 83, then returned from 84 till 87. When it relaunched, power came from a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 with 200 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Its quarter mile time actually beat those of the V8-powered Camaro and Corvette. GM continued to improve the car over the next few years and by the time the GN was retired it had 245 hp and 360 lb-ft, although this was underrated.
