A Ford GT is Lego's latest addition to its growing fleet of brick-made cars. Lego has worked to grow its automotive offerings over the last few years, and we're particularly grateful for that fact. The new Lego Technic set will come available in April, and unlike the real GT, you won't need to sign any paperwork preventing you from selling it.

The new GT will be available at 1:12 scale and will total 1,466 pieces, meaning it should take a good chunk of time to assemble. It'll be at least enough time to re-watch Ford v Ferrari at least once. Once assembled, the set should be pretty sizable.

Lego's dimensions say the kit will measure 3.5 inches tall, 15 inches long, and 7 inches wide. As with every Lego Technic set, some of the little details make the set, which is numbered 42154 for you Lego freaks. The V6 has moving pistons, like so many other Technic sets. On top of that, the little Ford GT also has working steering and a rear-wheel drive system with a differential.

These mechanical details, like the multi-position spoiler at the back, are what differentiate the Technic sets from other Lego cars. The doors even open upwards like the GT's real ones.

Lego itself hasn't provided pricing, but a quick web search led us to Walmart, which lists a price of $119. The Technic sets obviously aren't cheap, but you get to do some real "engineering" when you build them, which to us makes them worth the cash.

We'd love to see the classic Ford GT40 at some point, but Lego often doesn't double-dip on things like this. Obviously, selling both the GT40 and the Ferrari 330 P3 is a missed opportunity. We know plenty of people (we mean us) that would pay good money to build their own little Ford v Ferrari showdown.
