It's forced induction versus, well, displacement and forced induction.
We are certainly not going to try and say the Subaru WRX isn’t a quick car. The Japanese compact has about as much rally pedigree as is possible for a car to have. But that said, it might be a stretch to call it a drag car, and it probably wouldn’t be our first choice to send up against a supercharged and drag-oriented SVT Cobra Mustang. Nonetheless, a well-built WRX still should not be underestimated, and its performance in the following video might surprise you.
Or maybe it won’t surprise you at all. Either way, you should remember that street racing is always fairly unpredictable, and isn’t the forgone conclusion it might seem to be.
