Those who missed out on buying one of the ultra-limited Cadillac CT6-V Blackwings are about to get a second chance. Kind of. Although neither the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing nor CT5-V Blackwing will have the 4.2-liter twin-turbo "Blackwing" V8 under their hoods, they'll still pack quite a punch. The CT4-V Blackwing will come powered by a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 464 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque while its big brother has the one and only supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 with 640 hp and 630 lb-ft. A six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic will be available for each vehicle.

The official debuts will happen on February 1 during a live-stream event you can watch on Cadillac's website or social media channels.

In the meantime, we've learned about additional vehicle specs as well as the fact that Cadillac will begin taking reservations on that debut date. Those who do will also be gifted with a few extras such as a track session at the Cadillac V-Performance Academy in Nevada. Reservations on that day will be capped at 500 units in total, meaning 250 spots for each First Edition sedan.

Those reservations are not exactly free, however. Cadillac Society reports those pre-orders will each require a $1,000 deposit, a relatively low amount given that we expect the CT4-V Blackwing to begin at around $58,000 and the CT5-V Blackwing at about $75,000.

However, GMC required only a $100 deposit for the 2022 Hummer Edition 1, a vehicle that'll carry a price tag of $112,595. We highly doubt Cadillac's higher deposit amount will deter buyers and, chances are, every single one of those 500 vehicles will be gone within a matter of minutes. Those Hummer Edition 1s were gone in just 10 minutes.

It's also important to know those 250 units for each model are only the first editions; once all 500 pre-orders are sold, Cadillac dealerships will be allowed to begin ordering both through the regular process and customers can do likewise.
