The Cadillac ATS-V will do 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and will be able to hit 189 mph. That's pretty damn fast for a luxury sedan and coupe. However, Cadillac wants more. David Leone, Cadillac's chief engineer, fielded a question from a reporter at the ATS-V's media unveiling that hinted at such. The question: Would Cadillac consider a more aggressive ATS-V a la the Mercedes-AMG Black Series? Leone didn't exactly come out and say "yes," but his answer was quite telling.

"We might have something down the road that is a little bit more aggressive." That was Leone's answer. A source that spoke with Car and Driver added further fuel to the fire, saying that a high-performance variant could hit the market in 2017. That model, if it did exist, wouldn't feature all-wheel drive or a dual-clutch transmission. When asked about the two features, Leone said that the former added too much weight and that the latter was considered but ditched for being too heavy and expensive while not offering a performance advantage. So, what would a tuned ATS-V look like? The car is insane as is, but Cadillac could use a higher trim to address complaints from critics, add luxury goodies or just make it faster.
