Cadillac finally answered our prayers when it expanded its V-Series performance range with the surprise announcement of the CT6 V-Sport (now abruptly renamed the CT6-V), which packs Cadillac's new all-new 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces an estimated 550 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. But while Cadillac offers V-Series variants of the ATS and CTS, the XT4 crossover only has one engine option: a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

To us, the XT4 seems like a prime candidate to get the V-Series treatment to as Cadillac is lacking a high-performance SUV in its line-up that compliments its current sports cars. Given the rising popularity of crossovers, particularly in the US, introducing a hotter version of the XT4 makes a lot of sense. Cadillac recently announced the V-Series range will continue to expand after the launch of the 2019 CT6-V, which could include SUVs.

Sadly, Cadillac hasn't confirmed if we will get a hotter XT4, but thanks to a render sent to us by Allcarnews we now know what an XT4 V could look like. The XT4's sporty styling translates well to the V-Series treatment, as the render depicts the compact crossover with the usual V-Series performance-focused add-ons such as carbon fiber hood vents, larger wheels housing beefier brakes, and quad exhaust tips. In our dreams, the range-topping XT4-V would utilize the CT6-V's 550-hp 4.2-liter V8. Make it happen, Cadillac.
