We have known that Cadillac was planning to replace the SRX with the new XT5 crossover. The XT5 will fit in with Cadillac's new naming scheme that also includes the brand new CT6 sedan. The XT5 will be extremely important in Cadillac's future plans. The market for luxury crossovers has been growing rapidly and the American luxury automaker needs to have a strong competitor in the segment. Arriving to dealers in early April, the XT5 will carry a base price of $38,995.

The crossover will come in four trim levels including the range-topping Platinum trim, priced at a cool $62,500. All-wheel drive is optional on Luxury and Premium Luxury models, and is standard on Platinum trim. All XT5s will be powered by a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. A new eight-speed automatic is standard with Cadillac's new Electronic Precision Shift; this is the first electronically controlled transmission shifter in a Cadillac model. This model will likely be a huge seller for Cadillac. We're sure that buyers will flock to a small, affordable luxury crossover with nice styling.
