Cadillac Will Unveil Next-Generation CTS-V in Detroit Next Month

No specifics yet, but it probably won’t suck.

As great as the Cadillac ATS-V is and all, what we’re really looking forward to is the upcoming new CTS-V, which Cadillac has just confirmed will be breaking cover at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. In lieu of any details, which we really weren’t expecting yet anyway, Cadillac has said simply that "it's time for the V-Series to elevate to the next level." Considering the fact that the V-Series has always seemed pretty next-level to begin with, that sounds exciting.

One major area of speculation for the new car is the engine, always one of the more interesting parts to speculate on anyway. Since the original CTS-V used a detuned version of the Corvette ZR1’s engine, and now there is a new Corvette with a new engine, what does this mean for the CTS-V? Will it share an engine with the new Z06? If it does, will it be detuned or will it get the full 650-horsepower load of awesome? We unfortunately won’t be able to answer these questions until next month, but enjoy some pictures of the outgoing model until then.
