Callaway Pumps Up The GMC Yukon Denali To 560 HP

Now the whole family can enjoy some supercharged goodness.

Callaway Cars is a tuning company that is mostly known for building some insane Corvettes. For example, the company recently turned the C7 Corvette into the badass Aerowagon shooting brake. Now more than ever, consumers are looking for the performance of a sports car that is combined with the practicality of an SUV. And now a new range of Super SUVs has been created and Callaway wanted in on the action. That is why the tuner has just announced its all new, $120,000, supercharged Callaway Yukon Denali SC560.

As the name suggests, Callaway has taken the stock 420 hp and 5,743 pound Yukon up to a whopping 560 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. This massive power increase comes courtesy of an Eaton 2300cc TVS supercharger with carbon fiber manifold covers. This new kit is part of Callaway's GenThree of supercharges that was originally developed for use in the Corvette. These numbers represent the optional 6.2-liter V8, but Callaway hasn't forgotten about those who purchased the smaller 5.3-liter V8. The company will also sell an SC480 kit, which brings the 5.3-liter V8 from 355 hp up to 480 hp.

In addition to the power upgrades, Callaway Yukon models will also have some visual changes. All supercharging packages will come with Callaway embroidered floor mats, a special Callaway key fob, Callaway badging on the exterior and interior, and an under hood plaque with a Callaway VIN. Callaway says that it can also offer additional customization for clients that want a unique look. Customers can make their Yukon even more sporty by selecting the Callaway Handling Package, which lowers the ride height by two-inches on trucks with the standard suspension and GM's magnetic ride. There is also an optional brake package with six-piston fronts and four-pistons rears.

Customers can finish their Yukon off with some 20 or 22-inch wheels and various aluminum interior upgrades. A fully loaded SC560 model will top at around $120,000. This may put in the company of a few faster models like the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, but few SUVs can offer the same space as the Yukon. The Callaway Yukon can be ordered at any participating GM dealerships. All of these trucks will come with three-year 36,000-mile limited warranty along with the factory GM warranty. A five-year 60,000-miles extended powertrain protection service contract is also available. We think that this Yukon looks great for a large family that can't all pile in a two-seat Corvette.
