With the flood of news and images of custom coachwork coming from Pebble Beach this week, it's easy to lose one or two cars in the shuffle. Since the car you see here, known as the Tribute, wasn't actually at Pebble Beach, such a fate nearly befell it. The car was designed by Italy's Camal Studio, and is based on the Maserati GranTurismo. Although the car is technically just a 3D model at the moment, it is planned as a one-off coach-built vehicle.

Camal Studio is big on the Italian heritage angle, and its previous endeavors have included a milder restyling of the Fiat 500, one which called more attention to the car's rallying past. The Tribute, as you might have figured from the name, also calls on past glory days with its styling, although not in quite as specific a fashion. The car borrows styling elements from a variety of the big names in Italian GT cars, some historic and some contemporary. Overall, it seems to come together quite nicely, although we wouldn't mind seeing it in the metal, just to be sure.
