The tuning company Brabus is known mostly for taking Mercedes and turning them into complete monsters. Now Brabus has set its sights on Mercedes-Benz's range of Smart cars. Mercedes is showing off three Brabus-tuned Smart models at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show: the Brabus ForTwo, ForFour, and Cabrio. All three gain a modest power boost to 107 hp at 5,750 rpm and 125 lb-ft. This is an increase of 19 hp and 26 lb-ft over the standard engine. These cars use a 0.9-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Brabus has added a "Race Start function" which makes launch control simple. Just floor the accelerator and release the brake to engage the car's blistering 9.5 second 0-60 mph time. Other performance upgrades include new sport suspension with springs and dampers and a new front anti-roll bar. Brabus models also benefit from new front and rear bumpers, dual-exhaust, lighter alloy wheels, and various interior improvements. These cars are certainly no Fiat 500 Abarth fighters. Still, if you need a small city car that is slightly less boring, the Brabus Smart car is for you. Look on the bright side, if you buy one of these you get to tell people that you have a Brabus Mercedes!
