There's no doubt the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray differs significantly from any of its predecessors – in only good ways. We're not talking about the hard-core C7 Z06. That's a different beast entirely. No, the Corvette Stingray – and don't even think of calling it the "base model" – is already winning over hearts and lead feet among owners. Speaking to the C7's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter, on the sidelines at Geneva, he happily divulged some of the initial feedback received from a few of the car's newest owners.

Now, these are the people who don't buy just Vettes, but also Ferraris, Porsches, and Aston Martins. They have the money to buy almost whatever they'd like. Juechter says he was proud to hear back from some of his more well-heeled clients that they often find themselves leaving their Ferrari and/or Aston Martin DB9 in the garage. They prefer that shiny new Corvette Stingray instead. Considering the high benchmarks the competition set, this feedback is really quite something – and the even more potent Z06 hasn't even gone on sale yet.
