With its military styling and massive wheels and tires, the Hummer H2 is a very aggressive-looking SUV from the factory. But what happens if you replace the stock wheels with tiny 13-inch wheels? The engineering team from the YouTube channel Garage 54 was crazy enough to find out. If you aren't familiar with Garage 54, the Russian YouTube channel has done some crazy things with cars in the past, from driving on tires made of 3,000 nails, to building their own fake Tesla Cybertruck.

To make the wheels fit the massive Hummer, engineers had to remove the central section and drill eight additional holes. Specifically, Garage 54 fitted a set of 13-inch "Zhiguli" wheels taken from a ladder measuring 175/70 R13.

We can't help but compare it to a tyrannosaurus rex.

As a finishing touch, the wheels were painted in gold. As a result of these modifications, the Hummer now sits comically close to the ground. At the rear axle, the SUV's ground clearance has reduced from 10.2 inches to around two inches. Surely, those tiny wheels can't possibly withstand the weight of a 3.5-ton SUV? Prepared to be proven wrong.

Surprisingly, the Hummer is successfully driven out of the garage and withstands several bumps on quiet sludge-filled road without the wheels slipping.

Wisely, the driver avoids city streets to prevent driving over larger potholes that would cause the wheels to collapse. We'd love to see how long this experiment would have lasted off-road, though. It's certainly a unique take on the Hummer that we've never seen before and makes us wonder what crazy car experiment Garage 54 will try next.

While General Motors' Hummer H3 has been out of production since 2010, GMC is reviving the Hummer name for a new upcoming off-roader that will rival the Tesla Cybertruck. The GMC Hummer will have 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque, enabling the electric off-roader to hit 0-62 mph time of three seconds flat.
