Only 150 were ever made.
As the name of the vehicle implies, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 S is the result of a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren. The rare supercar was built as a tribute to the record breaking 1955 Mille Migilia victory by race car drivers Sir Stirling Moss and Denis Jenikson in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR #722. The number 722 on the car is significant because it marked the assigned starting time of the race at 7:22 am.
The production line of this special Mercedes-Benz is limited to only 150 units and when the car was initially released in 2009 it had a price tag that was reportedly in excess of $500,000. Now one of these limited roadsters has officially been put up for sale in Holland, but without a price listing. Given that this particular 722 S is in pristine condition and has only 5,537 miles on the odometer, it's safe to assume that it will fetch close to the original list price when sold.
