The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is an electronics and technology trade show where new gadgets and tech are displayed. While the event is mostly for smaller gadgets, Ford's high-tech GT has just been named the Official Vehicle of CES 2016. The 600 plus hp supercar has been named the official vehicle of the event because of Ford's commitment to progressing the future of the automotive industry. As enthusiasts, we have to say that we're excited to see an American supercar as the focal point of the event.

According to Ford, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) decided to name the all-new GT as the official vehicle for CES 2016 because it serves as a "technology showcase for top EcoBoost performance, aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fiber construction." Ford President and CEO Mark Fields is looking forward to showcasing the automaker's supercar at the event. "Ford was the first automaker to have a significant presence at CES nine years ago, and we are proud to continue that legacy of innovation in 2016," stated Fields. "As we move forward with our Ford Smart Mobility plan, CES is the perfect venue for sharing news on our efforts to change the way the world moves..."

Raj Nair Ford group Vice President and Global Product Development believes that the GT is the best vehicle to be displayed at the event. "Ford GT is the ultimate execution of an enthusiast supercar-we are honored Ford GT has been named the Official Vehicle of CES," stated Nair. "Ford GT includes innovations and technology that can be applied broadly across Ford's future product portfolio…" It looks like ditching the previous GT's 5.4-liter supercharged V8 for the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 was a good idea.
