Video games and cars go together like Trump and hairspray. Manufacturers like to team up with game makers to show off their latest models, and the latest pairing is from the creators of the 30-year-old Final Fantasy series and one of Germany's finest, Audi. Leading up to the latest instalment, we see the all-CG rendered teaser video featuring a 2017 Audi R8. To celebrate the launch of the game, Audi Japan commissioned a one-off real life version of the car.

This R8 will no doubt be sought after by some well-known YouTube gamer type, but they'll need to enter and then win a draw to be allowed to buy the car.

The Star of Lucis will then set the buyer back a smidgen over 50,000,000 Yen, or very close to $467,000. That's a lot of money for an Audi R8, and while it's a one-off, there's not really that much different, nothing someone couldn't replicate on a run-of-the-mill R8 for a heck of a lot less money. This R8 features a floral motif on the front intake, side blades and rear spoiler. A set of unique and pretty damn cool wheels is the biggest change to the car. Now we wait and see who has more money than sense.

There's a bit of a closer look at the car from back in March when the new Final Fantasy XV Kingsglaive was first announced.
