Caravaggio Corvettes has entered the realm of the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe with a new carbon fiber kit that sources inspiration from European automotive design. Just 30 examples of the Unica Series 1 kit will be assembled by hand. The customization firm says that each model will be documented so that it can maintain a collectible reputation.

Caravaggio Corvettes has been operating in Concord, Ontario since it was established in 1986. The owner, John Caravaggio, has worked in collaboration with John Cafaro who has been credited with penning the design for the C5-generation Corvette. The most recent works from the firm include a series of C7 Corvette Z06 models with a similar design direction as seen on this Unica Series 1 model.

Each of the 30 clients that place an order for this kit will be guided by the Caravaggio team to ensure that their personal touch is present on the final product. These customers will have access to a near-unlimited catalog of interior and exterior choices that include materials such as fabrics, leathers, and carbons available in a variety of colors and finishes.

The C8 Corvette Z06 models will also be treated to a series of performance enhancements such as supercharging and other enhancements for the LT6 5.5-liter V8, a set of uprated Brembo brakes, improved cooling components, and a selection of wheel designs. The finishing touch on each model will be a series of Caravaggio Unica Series 1 Corvette-specific badging to ensure a distinction from the standard car, similar to the strategy Chevrolet is implementing itself.

With these enhancements, Caravaggio says that 40 lbs will be shaved off the curb weight of each car thanks to the usage of carbon fiber materials. For the most exclusive members of its clientele, just five units will be available with a carbon fiber body finished in an exposed weave. The remaining 25 customers will have the option of picking almost any color conceivable together with custom stripes or clear coating if desired.

Within the cockpit, Caravaggio's tailors will upholster the cabin in a selection of handcrafted leather upholstery with bold colors and contrast stitching. Matte carbon and Alcantara details ensure that the car's sporty nature is preserved. Like the exterior, a selection of stripes and badges will be scattered throughout the interior while the steering wheel is equipped with some thumb grips so that drivers can have a better handle on the situation while piloting the Z06.

If you want to have a Caravaggio Corvette Z06 commissioned, be prepared to spend $110,000 MSRP excluding the price of a donor car. Production for these special models is expected to commence by the second quarter of this year with each unit set to be assembled at the company's facility in Canada.

Commenting on the new product, John Caravaggio says, "Our new Unica Series 1 is a natural evolution for Caravaggio Corvettes. We will offer 30 carbon fiber-bodied C8 Corvettes with a sophisticated design that builds upon the current car's design. The reimagined car has organic styling that combines the best of American sports car culture with the cultured lines of a European exotic."
