Mansory has been arguably the most controversial tuner of recent years because of how it seems to not care about maintaining the visual purity of a car. Granted, its recent rendition of the Ferrari Roma and F8 Spider were comparatively more tasteful but the work it has done to the likes of the Lamborghini Urus is inexcusable.

If you've been following this tuner for a while, you'll know that this is nothing new. The mere fact that the company is still operating proves that there is indeed a demand for these curious creations. If you happen to be a connoisseur of the aftermarket company's cars, then this recently listed SLR Roadster may suit your tastes perfectly.

Listed by Chicago Motor Cars is this 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster that has had almost every inch of its body retouched by the brand's Renovatio kit. This consists of the dramatic front and rear bumper and side skirts, all of which are finished in Osmium Grey exposed carbon fiber. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Custom Agetro wheels finished in gloss black with complementary red brake calipers are a fitting addition to the appearance.

Adding to the exclusivity of this particular model is the fact that it is one of 106 SLR Roadsters made in 2008. Because of this, the dealer has listed the car for $749,800. Part of its appeal is the fact that it only has 13,839 miles on the clock which is understandable. We can't imagine many people want to be seen behind the wheel of something so unapologetically gaudy for too long.

As a contrast to the exterior, the cabin has been tastefully finished thanks to some carbon fiber interior trimmings and the factory-equipped premium black semi-aniline leather upholstery for the seats. The steering wheel and door cards don a special Alcantara finish to round off the sporty appearance. As per the standard specification, the SLR plays host to comfort features such as dual-zone climate control and a premium Bose sound system with seven speakers.

When the SLR Roadster left its production line at McLaren's Woking facility, its supercharged 5.4-liter V8 would have delivered 617 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. Clearly, this wasn't enough for Mansory, with the figures now boosted to 700 hp and 649 lb-ft. Making this a more compelling offer is the fact that it is being sold with an original owner's manual, vehicle master remote key, set of original floor mats, and the original Mercedes-Benz battery charger. Then again, anyone who'd buy one of these likely cares little for originality.
