We're suckers for a bit of tasteful carbon fiber.
As if the standard C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray wasn't already a poster-worthy sports car, a number of aftermarket accessories have been released throughout 2020 that take it from stylish sports car to OEM+ beauty. Of those, our favorites have been the exposed carbon fiber items, particularly the carbon wings and aero kits, which are far more tasteful than false velocity stacks. But the latest addition to the available catalog of aftermarket accessories for the C8 comes from Nowicki Autosport in the form of the Concept8 Bespoke Carbon Fiber Engine Cover, which does what it says on the tin, decking out your engine bay with a helping of gloss-finish carbon fiber weave.
If Nowicki and carbon fiber in the same sentence sounds familiar, that's because these are the same guys that brought us carbon fiber Stingray badges earlier in the year. The company has a history of developing carbon fiber bits for various cars, but this is just the second item for the C8. "The new Concept8 authentic carbon fiber engine cover adds visual distinction to any C8 engine compartment," said Jeff Nowicki, Nowicki Autosport founder. "It is available with or without the Concept8 logo, for virtually endless personalization options."
It can also be equipped with the standard OEM "Corvette" engine cover emblem available straight from the dealer, giving your C8 a subtle enhancement that only the keenest of observers will notice.
We've already seen a carbon fiber engine cover for the C8 before, as well as wildly colored options to truly stand out, but this one is possibly the cleanest of them all. It's thanks to the fact that each cover is clear-tinted to match the OEM carbon fiber and is finished with a hand polish that makes it incredibly clean in its appearance. According to Nowicki, it is the only manufacturer offering an OEM-matched clear tint on its carbon components. While we can't substantiate the claim, we can say that to the naked eye, it looks pretty close.
But what's the price, you ask? $795 is the asking price, which is not too bad considering the aforementioned colored versions range from $685 to $885 each.
