Britain's favorite Formula 1 son knew exactly what the Goodwood crowd wanted.
On their way to Silverstone for this weekend's British Grand Prix, F1 champions Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Jenson Button came to Goodwood to revel in one of the world's most thrilling car gatherings. From early Bentleys through motoring legends like the Ferrari 250 GTO to a host of F1 and other race cars, the grounds at Goodwood set in the deep rolling hills of the South Downs was transformed into a petrolhead's paradise over the weekend, and roving CarBuzz reporter JD Lynton was there to capture all the action.
We present for your octane-drenched enjoyment these images of Hamilton pulling off a couple of donuts at the widest part of the track, putting the massive power from the wailing Mercedes engine in his McLaren racer through its Pirelli P Zero tires to burn the asphalt in Lord March's back yard all to hell. Once he was done showboating, the former champion casually waved o the cheering crowds in acknowledgment for their appreciation of his impromptu stunt. Supercars, classics and racecars are all set to follow, so make sure to watch this space for more exclusive shots.
