Diesel cars tend not to get tuned quite as frequently as their gasoline-powered counterparts, but much like turbocharged gasoline engines, there is often quite a bit of power that can be gained simply by reprogramming the ECU. Carlsson did this with the Mercedes E-Class CDI, and got a 20 percent gain in power, up to 280hp and 478lb-ft of torque. The E-Class was then given an aesthetic going-over which looks good on the convertible.
