AMG CLA 45

Mercedes must truly believe that America doesn't want hatchbacks. The automaker has seemingly determined that a four-door coupe is the best way to draw in young American buyers. The new CLA and the even hotter CLA45 AMG are selling like hotcakes these days, but this isn't the entry-level Merc we truly desire. We want the A-Class, specifically the A45 AMG. Underneath, the CLA and A-Class are the same car and share the same engines.

N/A

AMG even cooked up a 2.0-liter turbo four-banger specifically for both. But looking at the two side by side, the A45 AMG simply looks sharper and far less awkward. We dig the CLA45 AMG, but it's rear-end looks too awkward, almost as if it's melting. The A45 AMG, on the other hand, is the hot hatch that's causing the VW GTI to sweat like it never has before. Another German brand has joined the hot hatch brawl and America can't participate. It's a damn shame.
