Celebrating One Million Nissan Qashqai’s

Easily the highest-volume car produced in the UK, it took a little over four and a half years for Nissan to produce its one millionth Qashqai Crossover. Production began at the Nissan plant in Sunderland and achieved a level of success no other car in Britain has ever had in such a short period of time. 1,200 Qashqai's are built every day at the plant, averaging one car per minute that the production line is open. Talk about efficiency.

Over 80 percent of the cars manufactured are exported to markets all over the world. "The Nissan Qashqai has been a phenomenal success since its start of production just four and a half years ago," said Kevin Fitzpatrick, Nissan Vice President for Manufacturing in the UK. The 1,000,000th Qashqai will be put on display at the O2 Arena in London. The silver, 2.0-liter TEKNA Qashqai will be raffled off afterwards.
