Since its debut not long ago at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, the Mazda RX-Vision Concept has clarified one thing for us: Mazda, hands-down, employs the best damn designers of all of the Asian automakers. That achingly beautiful concept, believe it or not, isn't all that farfetched; it wouldn't take much to turn it into an actual production car that'll appear in showrooms. As we've recently learned, Mazda is also currently working on a new hybrid turbo rotary engine.
If all continues to go to plan, both the engine and car will debut in 2017 in time for the 50th anniversary of Mazda's rotary. But back to that concept's styling: it's perfect. Sleek, sexy, and aggressive. It's almost like a mix between Asian and Italian styling. Rendering artist Theophilus Chin has taken that concept and has, with a few tweaks here, some front end work there, come up with a pair of images of what a production-spec RX-9 could look like. It's very much true to the concept but with Mazda's current front grille styling and different wheels. Along with the MX-5, Mazda may soon have on its hands the two best and most affordable sports cars on the planet.
