He might be best known for his Gymkhana videos, but Ken Block's main passion remains racing rally cars. Last year he came very close to clinching the 2013 Rally America series title, before a massive crash at the season finale left his title chase in tatters. A win at the Lake Superior Performance Rally would have secured the championship for Block and co-driver Alex Gelsomini. But due to two simple letters – "in" – missing in their pace notes for one of the event's final stages, Block missed a clump of dirt on the side of the road.

That was enough to send the Ford Fiesta HFHV into a 90-mph cartwheel off the track and into a tree. Despite the violent crash, Block's immediate thought is to start up the car. Little did he know the car was missing its front wheels. The pair walked away from the championship-ending crash uninjured.
