Check Out New Ford GT In Gulf Livery, Listen To Twin-Turbo V6 Firing Up

Supercars / 81 Comments

Ford's new supercar looks and sounds sublime.

Made famous by the Ford GT40, the iconic blue-and-orange Gulf Oil livery has since been applied to a host of cars, from a Morgan 3 Wheeler to a McLaren P1. With the reveal of the 600-hp Ford GT Concept at Detroit, it didn't take long for someone to concoct a rendering of the car wearing the legendary color scheme. That somebody was Jon Sibal, and there's no doubt that if Ford decides to enter the new GT at Le Mans next year – 50 years after the first GT40 ran at the event – it will do so wearing the same paintjob as its granddaddy.

After enjoying this visual treat, time to entertain your ears with the sound of the GT starting up. The 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 does not disappoint.
