A few days ago it came to our attention that a Ford dealership located in Georgia did what the automaker did not: build a new Ford F-150 Lightning street performance truck. This was an OEM production truck several years ago with a previous F-150 generation, but today Ford has re-focused its attention on off-road ridiculousness, the F-150 Raptor. Pioneer Ford needs to be applauded for turning what was originally nothing more than a base Ford F-150 XL into an SVT Lightning.

Hooniverse trekked its way down to Georgia for a test spin and, of course, some serious tire burning was also a no-brainer. This F-150 Lightning seems to be everything we ever could've hoped it'd be – and we think it looks best in red. Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 with 650 hp, all of which goes directly to the rear wheels.

This is not your typical off-road pickup; it's a street legal hot rod pickup. The best part? It costs a mere $50,000. No joke. Pioneer Ford also did things right by building the truck with Roush performance parts, meaning both truck and parts come with authorized warranties. But enough talk. Check out the video above. Guaranteed it'll put a big smile on your face – and a wicked truck to add to your wish list.
