The 2024 Audi Q6 e-tron has officially been teased in "production-oriented" prototype form prior to its debut in the second half of 2023. This is far from the first time we've seen a camouflaged Q6 (there have been spy shots dating back to 2021), but it is the first official teaser from Audi. We know it will ride on Audi's new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) technology platform, which will also underpin other VW Group models such as the upcoming Porsche Macan EV.

The PPE platform boasts an 800-volt charging architecture, which should offer blisteringly quick charge times, possibly up to 350 kW. The Q6 e-tron will use two electric motors likely generating around 469 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque with a more powerful RS Q6 e-tron model (producing over 600 hp) to follow based on spy shots of prototypes with larger wheels and brakes.

Along with the standard Q6 pictured here, Audi will sell a Sportback version with a more coupe-like rear end. This model will likely be a bit more expensive than the standard Q6 and arrive slightly later. The three Q6 variants will count towards the 20 new models Audi plans to introduce by 2025, 10 of which will be all-electric.

"Our Vorsprung 2030 strategy provides the right answers, even in times of multiple crises," says Audi CEO Markus Duesmann. "We are completely focused on sustainability and systematically advancing the digitalization and electrification of our products."

"With the Audi Q6 e-tron, e-mobility is coming from Ingolstadt for the first time," Duesmann added. "To this end, we're also building a dedicated battery assembly facility on site. This will enable us to retain important know-how here in Germany and train our employees in future fields."

Inside, the Q6 will debut a new Audi MMI layout that ditches physical controls in exchange for touch screen-based menus. This approach didn't work too well for Volkswagen, but perhaps Audi's design will be more intuitive.
