The idea of a "new" Lamborghini Gallardo is perhaps a bit of a head scratcher, but that is sort of what you're looking at. The recently unveiled Extenso R-Ex was built out of a Gallado by Reiter Engineering, long time racing partners of Lamborghini's. It isn't, strictly speaking, a new model, but it was made with factory support. The track-only machine has been around for a couple of months at this point, but we've just gotten a video of the car out on the track and it's fantastic.

The carbon-fiber body is mighty impressive, but just wait until they take it out on the track, the sound is incredible.
