It seems the London Eye isn't the only current attraction on the River Thames. British artist Alex Chinneck in collaboration with Vauxhall Motors recently installed his latest piece of work – a 15-meter long arching ribbon of tarmac peeled back, turning a Corsa hatchback upside down as it grips to the curling slice of road without any visible support. The stunning illusion can be seen at the Hungerford Car Park at the Southbank Center.

It was produced with help from a team of structural engineers, steel benders, scenic artists, metal workers, carpenters, tarmac layers and road painters. Called "Pick yourself up and pull yourself together" the installation will be on show in the shadow of the London Eye until tomorrow. Check out the time lapse video of its overnight installation here.
