One of the stars of the 2014 LA Auto Show.
We brought you official snaps of the Shelby GT350, and later a spectacular video complete with the awesome sound of the naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V8 developing over 500 horsepower. Having whisked the wraps off the range-topping Mustang in LA, we now these live shots of the track-focused model and it looks just as mean in the metal as we hoped. Carroll Shelby would have most certainly approved.
Using a flat-plane crankshaft in a production V8 for the first time, the GT350 also employs MagneRide damping – another first for the Blue Oval – that automatically adjusts depending on driver inputs and road conditions. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual and Torsen limited-slip differential, while totally new sheetmetal in front of the windshield is designed to improve aerodynamics.
