What do you do when your Aston Martin needs a service but you don't want to leave the safety of your mansion to go sit at a dealership during this coronavirus situation? Aston Martin of Walton on Thames, the world's oldest Aston dealership, has the answer with its new Flying Technician service. With this new service, you can have your Aston serviced pretty much anywhere including at home or at work, so long as there is a flat, outdoor space measuring approximately six meters (around 20 feet) by nine meters (around 29 feet).

Aston Martin of Walton on Thames will send out its Mercedes-Benz service van, which is decked out appropriately in an Aston Martin green and lime racing livery. In the dealership's promotional video, we see a technician servicing a Vanquish and a DB7 in front of a massive UK home but it could just as easily handle a newer vehicle like a 2020 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera.

The dealership posted a few clips of the Flying Technician service van, including a brief walkaround showing a comfortable sitting area, a television, and some cooking appliances. "In these changing times, we are delighted to introduce our Aston Martin Flying Technician service," the dealership said on Twitter. "We can now bring our expertise to you for a completely contactless experience."

It appears as though the Flying Technician is the effort of a single Aston dealership, so we don't think the company offers this service outside of the UK, at least for now. The van can be scheduled online anywhere in mainland UK for just 79 pounds (around $99) plus the cost of the service.

The Flying Technician counts as a fully-authorized Aston Martin service and will, therefore, keep your warranty valid. This service is also fully insured for road-testing the car, working on the car, and any damage, should it occur. We hope other Aston dealerships catch on to this idea because it seems like an awesome idea even after the Covid-19 crisis is over.
