Chevrolet Avalanche - Somewhere Between SUV and Truck

Industry News / 1 Comment

Stuck somewhere between an SUV and a truck, the 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche is a good choice for people who do moderate hauling or towing, but still want a comfortable interior with plenty of seating. The vehicle is a four-door, five-seat Sport Utility Truck. That means its interior is similar to an SUV's, but instead of an enclosed cargo area, the Avalanche has a small pickup bed. The Avalanche was redesigned in 2007, so no big changes for 2010.

Performance comes from one engine, a 5.3-liter V8 with Active Fuel Management. A stiffer frame and new suspension and steering system, acquired during the 2007 design, help a little, but there are still complaints and the handling. The exterior continues on from 2007 redesign. The only change is that the previous generation's plastic body cladding has been removed. The cabin is nice and most remain pleased with the built-quality, and say it's a comfortable ride.
