It's been nearly six decades ever since Chevrolet launched the Corvette. Since 1953, it's been known as America's sports car and over the years it's participated in many motorsport events as well. It's certainly come a long way since its humble beginnings, but thanks to people like Zora Arkus-Duntov and his belief that the Corvette should be powered by a V8, it has evolved to become a true performance machine that competes with the best high-performance sports cars on the planet.

Sure it has its detractors, but we can all agree that the Corvette is a true survivor; it's made it through some tough times at GM when bean counters there sometimes found it hard to justify its continued production. Nevertheless, the Corvette has so far spawned six generation with the seventh coming in just a couple of years.
