To help ease the agonizing wait for the mid-engine Corvette C8 to arrive, Chevrolet has been churning out more special edition versions of the C7. In the US, Chevrolet debuted the Drivers Series Edition Corvette at Daytona last week, and now some parts of Europe are getting a new Final Edition of the Corvette C7. Dubbed "the ultimate Corvette C7," coupe versions of the Grand Sport and Z06 Corvette models will be available as a limited Final Edition in Germany and Switzerland, which will combine "the best attributes of the seventh Corvette generation."

Among the list of special features include Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, a performance data recorder, and chassis calibration optimized for race tracks. A Z07 package is also available for some versions, which adds additional aerodynamics and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. A carbon fiber exterior aerodynamics package adds a visible carbon fiber front splitter and side skirts, and the exterior can be finished in either Sebring Orange Tintcoat Metallic or Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic.

Inside, the interior has also received a slew of upgrades such as competition sports seats, a carbon fiber trim package, and black Nappa leather. The seat surfaces, steering wheel, gearshift, instrument panel, doors and center console come in sueded microfiber.

"Thanks to its unique combination of racing technology, excellent driving dynamics, unmistakable style and high everyday suitability, the Corvette has grown to be the ultimate sports car icon," said Chevrolet Europe's director of performance cars, Felix Weller. "With this special edition, we aim to honor the current generation, which has once more contributed greatly to the history of the Corvette series."

The Corvette Grand Sport Final Edition will start at 116,500 euros ($133,870) in Germany and 130,000 Swiss francs in Switzerland, while the Corvette Z06 Final Edition will start at 139,500 euros ($160,300) in Germany and 153,200 Swiss francs in Switzerland. Both models are powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that produces 650 hp in the Z06 and 460 hp in the Grand Sport. The order books are already open, but we'll have to wait and see if the Chevrolet Corvette C7 Final Edition will be sold in the US.
