There's no question the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has some catching up to do against its main rivals, the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500. The latter in particular has become a thorn in Chevy's side because it's taken the No. 2 best-selling full-size truck sales spot, reducing the Silverado 1500 to No. 3. It's not the end of the world, but the truck sales war between the Detroit automakers will never end. We know a major Silverado update is coming in the near future, likely for 2021 and certainly by 2022 but, in the meantime, there are still trucks to sell.

That's why Chevy has brought back its Truck Month sales event and well-qualified buyers can drive home in a new 2019 or 2020 Silverado with thousands of dollars in savings.

It's important to remember that the previous generation Silverado, now called the Silverado 1500 LD, remains on sale for budget-focused customers, though it does not appear to be returning for 2020. As such, there's a cash discount of up to $6,500 on the 2019 Silverado 1500 LD Double Cab right now. It can't be combined with special finance or lease offers and will expire on March 31, 2020. Its original MSRP is likely around $35,000, so this discount could potentially drop the price below $30k.

Those only interested in the latest generation Silverado 1500, a significantly more refined truck over its predecessor, are also in luck. The 2020 Silverado 1500 Double Cab has $4,500 in consumer cash while its Crew Cab counterpart has $6,000 on the hood. There's no mention of whether or not these offers apply to just the short and/or standard bed size for the Crew Cab.

In any case, the 2020 Silverado 1500 Double Cab normally carries a starting MSRP of $33,795 while the Crew Cab can be had from $36,195. Depending on how they're optioned, it's possible to get the price right around $30k mark. Those who prefer leasing can get the 2020 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab at 0 percent APR for 72 months plus a $500 cash allowance, but only if you finance through GM Financial.

It's important to remember these are nationwide offers and, depending on your region, there could be some additional savings but you'll have to inquire with your local dealerships to know for sure.
