Back in April, Chevrolet unveiled the limited edition Corvette Carbon 65. Limited to just 650 units, the custom Corvette celebrates the 65th anniversary of the Corvette's debut and includes several unique flourishes to help distinguish it. Now, Chevrolet has announced that the first ever production Corvette Carbon 65 Edition coupe will be going under the hammer at an upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, with all proceeds raised from sale benefiting the Bush Center's Military Service Initiative.

The car has been driven by former President George W. Bush, who has also signed the steering wheel. The charity was established to support post-9/11 veterans and their families make successful transitions to civilian life, "with a focus on gaining meaningful employment and overcoming the invisible wounds of war." General Motors already supports the charity's cause by employing 6,000 veterans at the company, and 50,000 former GM employees are also veterans. The Carbon 65 package is available on the Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ trims and can be had either as a coupe or convertible.

Distinguishing the limited edition Corvette is a carbon fiber exterior package applied to the front and rear spoiler, side sills and quarter ducts finished in Ceramic Matrix Gray It also features unique fender stripes and graphics, as well as gloss black wheels with machined grooves, and blue brake calipers. Inside, the cabin is wrapped in a jet black suede finish and features a carbon-fiber-rimmed steering wheel, gloss carbon-fiber interior trim, and Competition Sport seats.
