Delays and problems have plagued the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8 with seemingly no end. The pandemic played a big role in the delays, and it's had such a profound effect on deliveries that, in some cases, people are asking millions for new Corvettes. These issues have caused problems mainly for the 2020 model, but as you can imagine, 2021 models have also been delayed as a result. Sadly, things aren't getting much better as the year draws to a close. Corvette dealership Kerbeck is reporting that although the order consensus period for 2021 models has now opened for dealers, a popular color combo is currently on constraint.

The color combination currently on hold is Sky Cool Gray with Strike Yellow, and as you can see from the images, it's a combo that looks amazing. It's a new mix only available for 2021 models and is only offered for the 3LT trim level. It's a sought-after option considering its similarity to the color scheme seen on the exterior of the C8.R racecar. However, before you start getting upset with GM for yet another C8 issue, it's not uncommon for new color options to be limited during the early days of production as manufacturing plants transition from building the previous year model. That being said, the pandemic is still with us so this hold could be a little longer-lasting than normal.

Fortunately, this is the only issue affecting 2021 option choices so far. If you're among those who ordered this color combo, there's no need to call your dealer as the dealer will contact you if your order has been affected. Those who are affected will be asked if they would like to change the color scheme to still receive their new Corvettes reasonably soon, or if they'd like to skip to the next order consensus. For those who have already experienced delays and frustrations over getting a new Vette, this may well be the last straw. Here's hoping that GM can rebuild the C8's reputation in 2021.
