Chevrolet Is Practically Giving Away Bolt EVs

Electric Vehicles / 2 Comments

With a few stipulations, of course.

The Chevrolet Bolt is due for an extensive update in 2021. A crossover variant, called the EUV, is also set to be unveiled at around the same time. Both vehicles were recently teased, meaning a debut shouldn't be too far off. In the meantime, the 2020 Bolt remains on sale and, apparently, Chevy really wants to get rid of unsold stock. This should come as no surprise, but what's interesting are the insanely good lease deals currently being offered.

CarsDirect has obtained a dealership bulletin detailing extremely cheap Bolt leases as part of the Costco Auto Program. On the one hand, buyers must be Costco members (who isn't these days?), but they'll also have the opportunity to lease a new Bolt for just $154 a month. In fact, that number could be even less in some parts of the country. Here's how the deal works.

Costco members are now eligible for a $3,000 signing bonus when buying or leasing a 2020 Bolt, but it's the lease offer that's very good. The Costco deal can be combined with a $5,700 national lease incentive, totaling up to $8,750 in savings. Still not impressed? The Bow Tie brand is also offering a $1,500 bonus for customers currently driving and trading in a 2015 or newer GM lease.

Driving a competitor? This deal applies to that, too. Do the math and that brings total potential savings to $10,250. A 2020 Bolt LT can now be leased for just $194 a month for 36 months with only $194 due at signing and a 12,000-mile yearly limit. To get that $154 per month lease, however, you'll have to live in San Francisco, where there's an additional $1,400 discount.

Earlier this year, Chevy was offering a Bolt LT lease deal for $199 per month for the same time period, though there was $2,769 due at signing, though this was not part of a Costco program.

If you're not interested in leasing, then this Costco bonus can be combined with an $8,500 rebate, totaling $11,500 in savings. GM Financial also currently has a 0 percent APR for 72 months plus a $4,750 cash offer on the table. This totals $7,750 with the included bonus. Other conditions interested buyers need to know is that they must be Costco members since September 1.

Fortunately, there's plenty of time to decide whether to buy, lease, or opt for a different vehicle entirely. These offers won't expire until January 4, 2021.
