Chevrolet Prepares To Launch The New Colorado

Report

Chevy has big plans for the new Colorado midsized pickup truck.

General motors is planning to increase their presence in Thailand, as they recently completed a $300 million retooling of their Rayong manufacturing plant, in anticipation of the release of the new Colorado midsize pickup. Pre-production versions of the truck have recently finished some extensive testing in a variety of conditions, and they are now ready for their release for the Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East and South America markets.

The four-cylinder Duramax diesel engine which will power the Colorado will also be built in Ryong, in a plant next door to the one where the Colorado will be assembled, and will have either a 2.5-liter or 2.8-liter displacement. Although the vehicle was designed primarily for Thailand, Chevy expects that a formula that works there will work for a number of other markets as well. Photos courtesy of Bbznet.
