The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was redesigned for the 2019 model year. Not long after, the popular pickup truck was updated for the 2020 model year with more tech and new engine options. But if you've been on the fence about buying a Silverado 1500, now is a good time to act because Chevrolet has slashed the price on select 2019 models to clear out old inventories now that the improved 2020 version has arrived.

According to the Chevrolet consumer site, the 2019 Silverado Crew Cab LT with All-Star Edition and Z71 package is available nationwide throughout January with a whopping $9,512 off the MSRP thanks to a $3,500 customer cash reduction, $2,000 package cash allowance, and $1,000 option package discounts. The equivalent Double Cab version of the Silverado 1500 LT is also being sold with $9,110 slashed off the MSRP.

These are great savings, but it's a shame the discount only applies to one trim level and two body styles. You need to select the All Star and Z71 packages to be eligible.

For reference, pricing for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LT All-Star Z71 starts at $52,175 before any incentives. With the January 2020 discount applied, the price plummets to $43,065. The Double Cab version, on the other hand, carries an MSRP of $49,275, but Chevy's January discount reduces this to $40,165. Still a lot for a truck, one might say, but pickups these days are more capable and more comfortable than ever.

As standard, the LT trim is powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission or an optional 10-speed automatic. Alternatively, Chevrolet's 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 engines are also offered on this trim.

To qualify for the offer, owners must take delivery before February 2, 2020. If you prefer financing, the 2019 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab is available 0 percent APR for 72 months for well-qualified buyers via GM Financial.
