Believe it or not, Chevrolet has been building pickup trucks for 100 years now, and that's definitely a reason to celebrate. One way to do that is to expand its current Colorado lineup with a pair of new trims. Introducing the Colorado ZR2 Midnight Edition and Dusk Editions, both of which will be on display later this month at SEMA in Las Vegas. Unlike many other SEMA vehicles, these two are production models that will go on sale in the near future.

The 2018 Colorado ZR2 Midnight Edition comes with, not surprisingly, an all-black exterior finish, black Chevy bowtie emblems and 17-inch five-spoke black wheels. There's also a black sport bar with off-road LED lighting and ZR2 logos on the sport-bar sail panels. As for the ZR2 Dusk Edition, painted Summit White, it comes with all of the same content as the Midnight Edition, according to Chevy. It can also be purchased in all other ZR2 exterior finishes, sporting black accents throughout. As with any other Colorado ZR2, buyers will have a choice between two engines, a standard 3.6-liter V6 paired to an eight-speed automatic and a 2.8-liter Duramax turbo diesel.

Compared to the regular Colorado, the off-road focused ZR2 sits two inches higher and has a 3.5-inch-wider track. Other off-road features include a unique suspension with cast-iron control arms and Multimatic DSSV dampers. There's also front and rear electronic locking differentials, hill decent control, an aluminum skidplate, Autotrac transfer case, four-wheel disc brakes and a modified rear axle with a 3.42 ratio and special off-road setting. The base Colorado ZR2 begins at $40,160, but Chevrolet hasn't revealed pricing for either of these new editions.
