Automotive manufacturers are experiencing tough times due to several parts shortages. The worst of the lot continues to be the semiconductor chip shortage, which leading industry experts think will last until the fourth quarter of 2023.

The chip shortage continues to wreak havoc on the automotive industry, and we can't think of a single manufacturer that hasn't had to halt production at least once.

The C8 Chevrolet Corvette's production has been haunted from the start and not always by parts shortages. Production of the C8 was also delayed by strikes and a tornado that tore through the Bowling Green plant. Now Chevrolet has to deal with a new list of parts shortages, leaked by the Mid Engine Corvette Forum.

2022/2023 Chevrolet constraints were leaked to the forum via an insider. It shows several parts unavailable due to the semiconductor shortage or supplier restrictions.

It confirms that the Z06 is sold out for 2023, which immediately increases the value of the cars Chevrolet already made and will still make. Z06 availability is the supercar's number one issue, as scarcity pushes the value well into supercar territory. That's not ideal, given the Z06's mission to be a blue-collar supercar. Sure, it costs $100,000, but that's a relative bargain considering what the Italians charge for a car with similar performance credentials.

Chevrolet has implemented several tactics to keep markups and car flippers at bay, but to date, the only thing that seems to work is online outrage by consumers.

The order books for the 2023 Corvette Stingray are still open, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to get the car you want. The screengrabs shared by the insider revealed that there are parts that are currently out of stock, and the date at which said parts will be available is yet to be determined. The more appealing options are seemingly sold out for the entire model year.

The currently unavailable parts can all be retrofitted, or you can go without them if you want. These include chrome wheel locks, all-weather floor liners, the high wing spoiler in Carbon Flash metallic-painted, and Red Edge brake calipers. The red engine cover option is no longer available unless you opt for the 70th Anniversary Package.

As mentioned earlier, the entire model year production run restrictions are more severe. Due to supplier restrictions, the 19/20-inch Gloss Black forged aluminum wheels are unavailable. The Z51 Performance Package is sold out for the entire year, and that's a pity. The package came standard with the non-adaptive performance suspension, electronic limited-slip differential, heavy-duty cooling, performance exhaust, and high-performance Brembo brakes. It was one of the most popular options in 2022 and would have likely continued the trend in 2023.

Magnetic Ride Control and the Z51 Package with Magnetic Selective Ride Control are also sold out for the model year.

Essentially, Chevrolet has removed the ability to opt for a track-biased Corvette or a more comfortable suspension setup for daily driving. While a standard 'Vette is a reasonably talented car, you can only get the best out of it with the Z51 Performance Package included.
