It's Ram-fighting time.
Last month we learned that Ram had actually sold more 1500 pickup trucks than its Chevrolet competitor, the Silverado. Of course, Chevy didn't take too kindly to this and was quick to point out Ram's sales success was largely due to various incentives and even some fleet sales. But at the end of the day, Chevy lost its number two full-size truck sales spot to its cross-town rival.
Ford, meanwhile, remains at number one with its F-Series. But Chevrolet is fighting back and is now offering significant discounts on the all-new 2019 Silverado this month. Those in the market for a new truck are quite fortunate.
Here's what's on offer:
• 2019 Silverado Crew Cab LT with All Star and Z71 packages:
$3,015 price reduction below MSRP + $5,500 cash allowance + $500 option package discount = $9,015 discount
0 percent APR (interest-free) for 72 months when financing with GM Financial
• 2019 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LT/RST: 0 percent APR (interest-free) for 72 months when financing with GM Financial
Yes, you read that correctly. Chevrolet is offering a $9,015 discount this month on select Silverados. Typically, the MSRP for the LT is $40,695 while the Crew Cab LT All Star goes for $51,700. Apply the discount and you're looking at a price of $42,695.
The only downside to this $9k sale is that it applies to just one Silverado body style (Crew Cab) and the LT trim only. But unlike last month's Silverado sales incentives, which was a slightly better deal, this month's offer is not limited to "current competitive owners," a term GM created that refers to anyone leasing or who owns a non-GM vehicle. GM wants to keep existing Chevy Silverado owners in the family, too.
However, Detroit's truck battle is forever ongoing as both Ford and Ram will surely have enticing incentives of their own this month.
