Mark your calendars because this May 16 Chevrolet will officially debut the all-new, sixth-generation Camaro in Detroit. This will not be some PR event where only the media is invited. No, it's going to be a day-long celebration held at Belle Isle, a 982-acre island park that's also home to the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. And because the unveiling of a new Camaro is a really big deal, Chevrolet is opening the event to about 1,000 guests. That's right. You can go, but space is obviously very limited.
"This will be an event Camaro fans will not want to miss," stated Camaro marketing boss Todd Christensen. "This is only the sixth time we have introduced an all-new Camaro. We wanted to share the moment with the customers and fans who have helped make Camaro both America's favorite performance car for the past five years, and a cultural icon since 1967." Aside from the big debut, the event will also include a Camaro museum display, hot-lap rides in the 2016 Camaro Z/28 around the Belle Isle course, the chance to meet with Camaro designers and engineers, and, of course, Camaro-only parking for owners.
