There's no question that the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL will be smash hits for General Motors. These full-size, body-on-frame SUVs are not only more capable than ever off-road, but also quite luxurious inside. It's no wonder sedan sales continue to decline. These SUVs are the ideal all-around vehicle for thousands of buyers and can be equipped with an array of features to suit just about any lifestyle. Among them are the all-weather floor liners. The name is self-explanatory. Unfortunately, those who recently ordered them with their SUVs won't be getting them.

GM Authority has learned the automaker has been hit with a supplier issue for these liners due to coronavirus-related problems. There's currently no indication when they'll be available again but GM has already removed them from the options list.

This supply issue has been known since October and GM is still working to find a solution. Vehicles on order will be repriced accordingly. It's kind of a troubling issue for these brands because it also affects at least three dealer-installed equipment options, such as the Interior Protection Package that includes all-weather floor and cargo mats. Until this is sorted out, customers who ordered their SUV with one of the equipment packages that included these liners will instead be offered new all-weather floor mats as a replacement.

The difference between floor mats and liners is quite simple: mats are flat on the bottom while the liners are uniquely shaped to a specific vehicle's floor.

Customers should just be glad there are no supply issues with the SUVs themselves, a situation GM simply could not afford. The Tahoe is one of Chevy's more popular models with sales exceeding 100,000 units in the US for the past two years. The larger Suburban is also a strong seller with around 50,000 examples leaving dealer lots annually. The more luxurious and expensive GMC Yukon and Yukon XL also do quite well with close to 80,000 combined annual sales.

The 2021 Tahoe and Suburban are priced from $49,000 and $52,995, respectively. The GMC Yukon and Yukon XL can be had from $51,995 and $54,595.
