The 2012 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show will open its doors on October 30th in Las Vegas, and GM is planning on making its mark at the tuner expo with a whole mess of customized Chevrolets, including those previewed here. The Bowtie brand has prepared several concepts based on the Spark, including the accessorized Spark Z-Spec and the aggressive Spark Sinister. A pink Spark promote breast-cancer awareness and a tie-dyed Color Run Spark will pace the eponymous 5k marathon.

A pair of Sonic concepts will also debut at SEMA, the first titled the Sonic Z-Spec 1, built with bigger brakes and a power-enhancing exhaust for increased performance, and the Z-Spec 2.5, a tuner-inspired concept with an aggressive stance and a raft of components from the Chevrolet Performance and Accessories catalog. Another concept prepared specially for SEMA is the Cruze Upscale sedan, a luxurious take on the compact sedan complete with a Burnished Brandy Metallic paintjob and a brown leather interior. But perhaps the most eagerly anticipated SEMA debut will be the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept.

With a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine rated at 259 horsepower, the Malibu concept is quoted for a 0-60 run of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph to stand as the fastest Malibu ever to roll off the assembly line. The concept will also include a new aero kit and an upgraded interior. It will join a staggering array of 39 small modified cars which Chevy will present at SEMA, so watch this space for more.
