Almost one month from now, the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe will make its debut. The reveal is set for October 26, at a yet-to-be-announced location. But before the Z06 makes its first official appearance, Chevy has decided to give us a small peek. This is not the first time we've spotted the C8 generation Z06, though it is the first time we've seen the car completely without camouflage.
Chevy surprised us all today by posting the first image of the new Z06 through the Corvette Instagram page. The caption on the post reads, "who needs spy photos when you've got the real thing? Full reveal coming 10.26.21. The All-New 2023 Corvette Z06."
Chevy didn't share any new information, saying "more details about Z06 and the reveal will be shared as that date gets closer, and we'll continue to update you as we have more." We can still glean several details from this teaser. For starters, the Z06 will come with more than one configuration, a high-wing or a low-wing. The silver car here looks like the low-wing option, with a conservative spoiler in the rear and some attractive wheels.
Along with the full reveal photo, Chevy posted another camouflaged spy shot of the more aggressive Z06 with the high-wing package. This version appears to have more aggressive front aero, a much larger spoiler, lighter wheels, and possibly a fixed roof.
We still expect the C8 Z06 to use a modified version of the 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 found from the C8.R race car, tuned to produce around 600 horsepower. While the standard Corvette Stingray only revs to 6,500 rpm, this new Z06 should unleash its fury up to 9,000 rpm. Pricing likely won't be announced until closer to the on-sale date, but we expect it to fall within the $80,000 to $100,000 range.
