No matter how horrible 2020 gets, we can take solace knowing that the Pontiac Aztek, a car that many refer to as the ugliest of all time, is gone forever. Pontiac disappeared a decade ago, meaning there's no way General Motors could ever bring back the nameplate without putting it under another brand. This fact hasn't stopped a few rendering artists from inflicting pain on our eyeballs by imagining what the Aztek would look like if it were around in 2020.

A new rendering takes a slightly different approach in imagining a modern-day Aztek. Rather than start with the old Aztek and edit the features to make it look more modern, Oscar V starts with a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, then morphs some of the design elements to complete the Pontiac transformation.

The results look believable. So believable, in fact, that we want this creation to never see the light of day. The Trailblazer's styling is controversial but falls far from the level of offensiveness reached by the original Aztek. That's why we were shocked to see how few modifications it takes to make the Trailblazer look like a modern-day Aztek reincarnation.

"Killed two birds with one stone with this one! I modernized the Pontiac Aztek but also depicts what I've thought all along; that the Trailblazer is reminiscent of the Aztek IMO! Please don't call this a "face swap" as that is not what I did. Let me know what y'all think," Oscar V said on his Instagram post.

The image changes surprisingly little about the Trailblazer. It only took a new grille, headlights, and C-pillar to make the Trailblazer look just like an Aztek. We are thankful that the Aztek will remain dead and buried, but this rendering may forever change how we look at the Chevy Trailblazer.
