Chinese Owner of Smashed Lamborghini Gallardo Takes it on Tour

An extraordinary case of bad customer service.

A little over a year ago, we reported about an angry Chinese Lamborghini Gallardo owner. For those who remember, this is the same guy who hired a team of men and their sledgehammers to beat the everlasting crap out of his Gallardo in public and with the cameras rolling. Why exactly? About six months after buying it, the Gallardo failed to start and the owner contacted his local Lambo dealership only to be told they couldn't find the problem after checking the car out.

The owner then tried contacting Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann himself as well as the automaker's Chinese headquarters and parent company VW Group. Again, nothing came from his efforts. In an act of desperation and anger, he publically had the Gallardo destroyed on World Consumer Day of last year. The idea was to embarrass Lamborghini and the VW Group on an international level. Now, China Car Times is reporting that the owner is once again out to humiliate those corporate powers by taking the smashed car on a tour around China.

The first stop was at the Qingdao car show last week where the car (what was left of it) was displayed on a flat-bed truck. However, the same source is reporting that the guy originally bought the Gallardo second-hand from Germany. After taking it to his dealership with some mechanical problems, he also claimed they scratched it, which Lamborghini denied doing. Regardless, this is clearly an ongoing embarrassment for Lamborghini and it should be interesting to see how (or if) the two parties will ever make amends.
